Ways to Travel in Final Fantasy VIII

Chocobo's

Travelling with the Chocobo The most famous way of Transporting since from the eraliest way known to man kind is the use of Chocobo's. These feathery creatures are use in the FF8 game to travel from different points as well.

The Ragnarok

Flying ships have been among most of the Final Fantasy series. In Final Fantasy 8, the crew gets to fly a mechine called the Ragnarok, a wierd looking vessel that looks like it was remove from a Japenese Anime. I. Ragnarok is said to be developed secretly by an unnamed country. Count on seeing an impressive event or two involving this craft.

Ragarok: The super high mobility flying ship Weight:
2,850 tons (without propellent, charge nor occupents)
3,134 tons (with one third propellent, full charge, and full occupents)
3,450 tons (with full propellent, full charge, and full occupents)
Length: 108 meters
Width: 77 meters
Height: 54 meters (landing), 65 meters (flying)
Occupents: A crew of 4. A navagator, a wireless operator, a cannoneer, and a cox. Adding to this, the ship is able to carry about ten more occupents.
Weapon:
609 mm charged particle cannon
152 mm multibarreled laser x2
Maximum Speed: 11.8 km/s (The second cosmic velocity, which can launch a rocket into space.)
It's body is red and you can see the letters ESTHAR on it's body. Ragnarok was made more than 20 years ago, and it is still one of the strongest flying ships. It was reportedly made secretly in an unknown country. There are at least 2 other flying ships of the same kind with different markings.

Trains

The Ragnarok Trains were used quite a bit in Final Fantasy 7, but only within Midgar. Trains as well was used in Final Fantasy III (the Ghost Train) Trains in Final Fantasy 8, on the Island of Balamb is use as a mean of transportation. This is a quick and cheap way to travel, but it does have it disadvantages.i

The SeeD even have their own special train to get them on priority missions quickly and easily

Cars

Squall in a Car A new addition to a Final Fantasy game is the Car. It was kinda introduce in FF& during the Shinra scene, but it was not major . Cars can be used to drive along roads, such as the Balamb City - Garden road which Squall uses alot. off-road is available.

You can rents cars and probably later on in the game actually buy them.
